During 2009, a number of photographers worldwide who had posted photos of The Clash online were approached by filmmaker Daniel Garcia about licensing their images for use in his documentary. The film, entitled 'The Rise And Fall Of The Clash' is now nearing completion. Daniel directed the film, co-wrote the script with Clash acolyte Robin Banks (about whom Mick Jones wrote 'Stay Free'), and also co-produced with Robin Banks and David Mingay. There is no release date as yet. Although The Clash have already been well documented in film by both Don Letts and Julien Temple (and even 'Rude Boy' can be seen on DVD), Danny has looked for some new perspectives from his interviewees, and sought fresh images of the band, including some great shots in New York from 1980/81 by Joe Streno, and even one of my photos from the Auckland show on February 5 1982.

Good on you Jonathon. Good to see that a pic from NZ was picked. The Clash had a great time while in NZ. Some of the band came down to a certain night club (Mirage) way back then and it was a rage!
Jonathan ...
Thanks for the shout out & the link. I was wondering who else Danny contacted. It's wild how this all happened. The "wonders" of the internet. :)
I feel very fortunate to have my photos included.
Now I can't wait to see the finished product.
Cheers ... Joe Streno
