Rachael King: " ... possibly the best gig we ever had in that line-up, which blew apart a short time later"

For a while I had nothing to do with BFM or their magazine, but Mark Webster and Jonathan King were publishing Stamp, which was a short-lived but very cool 'alternative' music magazine. Stamp was one of the first magazines in New Zealand to be produced using Pagemaker and an Apple Mac. I took photos for them in 1989 and 1990, including this Cakekitchen set.

... first up, though: seen through a fogged-over lens, Drill played support ...

... halfway through the Cakekitchen's set, one of these these two gents tapped me on the shoulder. "Take our picture" he said. I'm always happy to oblige, but something about the way he said it suggested it was best not to argue.
