you're with stereo friends: on 91.8 BFM 1985

Grant McLennan of the Go-Betweens guests on Debbi Gibbs' 91.8 BFM radio show, 16 February 1985. Grant talked about and played some of his favourite music - including The Bats and The Feelies.

Martin Phillips of the Chills was also there. This was about the time Martin recorded his 'There's only one station' BFM jingle.

"Stereo 918"... I remember that jingle they had, then in 1990 sometime after they moved to 95 I finally got the t-shirt, '95 on yer fm dial' it said.

Hope you are well Jonathan.

George

yeah .... "the flyest show ever / on 95 BFM / so listen to us / and not them."

I know you still love that one, George.

Woah!!! Grant and Martin in the same room! I miss Grant so much and I may never see Martin Phillipps playing a gig (unless the chills tour europe again).

The go-betweens, the chills and the cat's miaow are the soundtrack to my life and they mean the world to me!! Noone has written more beautiful songs/lyrics than Grant/Robert, Martin and Bart. Nothing can compare to them! They created the PERFECT pop.

I can't even listen to some of the go-betweens songs any more without feeling teary. And Martin Phillipps, what a sensitive and tortured soul!

You blog is excellent- keep up the good work!

Christos xx
